The Industrial Maintenance program prepares you to maintain, troubleshoot and repair the equipment used in manufacturing and industrial operations. You’ll build a broad technical foundation that helps you adapt to changing technology while learning how to support efficient, reliable production systems.
You will learn how to:
- Understand electrical concepts, mechanical systems and industrial safety
- Read prints and technical diagrams for electrical and equipment systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain motors, controls and mechanical components
- Build skills in preventative maintenance and equipment repair
- Gain exposure to fluid power and industrial system operation
- Learn how modern mechatronic systems are used in manufacturing
- Develop problem-solving skills for diagnosing equipment issues
- Build hands-on experience with industrial tools, training devices and shop equipment
The program also allows you to expand your skill set through elective training areas such as PLC-robotics, HVAC, machining or welding, helping you become a more versatile technician.
Students will select two of the four elective programs of study, where they will spend one trimester (432 hours) per elective. Electives include HVAC Mechanic Helper, Industrial Maintenance Machinist, PLC-Robotics, or Shielded Metal Arc Welder.
