Prepare for a vital role in the operating room by learning the technical and sterile procedures that support safe surgical care.

The Surgical Technology program trains you to work alongside surgeons, nurses and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. Through classroom instruction, lab practice and clinical-style training, you’ll learn how to prepare the operating room, organize instruments and maintain the sterile field throughout each procedure.

You will learn how to:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures
  • Maintain sterile fields and apply aseptic technique
  • Handle, organize and manage surgical instruments and supplies
  • Support surgeons and nurses before, during and after procedures
  • Learn instrument sterilization and proper equipment handling
  • Assist with surgical setup, patient preparation and team scrubbing procedures
  • Understand wound exposure, closure support and hemostasis-related tasks
  • Build knowledge of surgical procedures, safety standards and operating room workflow
  • Develop professionalism, focus and communication skills needed in surgical settings

The program consists of four months of concentrated theory and lab practice, two months of integrated theory and clinical preparation, and six months of clinical practice. It is designed to help you build the precision, discipline and technical confidence needed to support surgical teams in fast-paced healthcare environments.
